The green army was lovin' it last night at the Centennial arena as their Okotoks Oilers shutout the Spruce Grove Saints 6-0.

Mikael Kingo picked up his third shutout of the season, his first since the team joined the BCHL, as he stopped the 16 shots he faced.

Three players each scored a pair as the team picked up their first win since recently joining the league along with four other former AJHL teams.

Sam Huck, Rylan Brown and Hayden Fechner were the Oilers with two goals each and team captain Jack Silverberg added 3 assists.

The Oilers chased former Oiler netminder Alex Schweiller from the net in the second period after scoring 5 of their 6 goals on him on only 21 shots.

The three stars of the game were all Oilers: Brown, Huck and Kingo.

Fans of the team, affectionately known as the Green Army had another reason to celebrate too, the team has some new hoodies for sale that come in green or grey for $55.

And the Oilers next game is this Tuesday morning, Feb. 13 at 11:00 a.m. as they host their 2nd annual 'Hockey Game for Mental Health'.

The Oilers have teamed up with the Foothills School Division's Minds Matter to make this game free for students, hence the early start time.

The students should be in for a great matchup too as the Brooks Bandits are coming to town to face off against the Oilers.

Stay up to date with the Oilers on their X account while they develop a new website.
