Calgary Stampede: What to check out on July 11
Saturday, July 11 brings another full Calgary Stampede schedule, with rodeo, livestock events, family programming, live music, cultural programming and evening entertainment planned across the grounds. The day includes the Stampede Rodeo, the Evening Show, the Cowboy Up Challenge, the Heavy Horse Pull, Stoney Nakoda Nation Day, culinary programming and the Alanis Morissette Stampede Concert Series presented by Uber Eats with special guest Brandy Clark. All-day and ongoing attractions Several attractions are scheduled throughout the day, including Canadian Armed Forces Displays at the Kids’ Midway, interpretive programming at Elbow River Camp Presented By Enbridge and live sand sculpting at Western Oasis in the BMO Centre. The Market, Born To Buck presented by Holt Renfrew, Cattle Trail, Horse Haven, Nutrien Ag-tivity in the City, Draft Horse Town, blacksmiths and farm equipment displays are also part of Saturday’s lineup. Agriculture programming continues with Country Critters, the Milky Way Dairy Display and demonstrations in the Agriculture Barns, as well as sheep and pork showcases in the Nutrien Western Event Centre. Livestock and agriculture highlights The Canadian National Miniature Horse Show is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the Northern Lights Arena in the Agriculture Zone Presented by Brandt. The International Youth Livestock Supreme Championship is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. in the Nutrien Western Event Centre. The International Livestock Auctioneer Finals, featuring OH Ranch Branded Beef Steers and Junior Steer Classic Grand and Reserve Champions, are scheduled for 12:15 p.m. in the Nutrien Western Event Centre. The Heavy Horse Pull is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. in the Nutrien Western Event Centre. The Cowboy Up Challenge Pre-Show begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Cowboy Up Challenge at 7 p.m. in the Nutrien Western Event Centre. Family programming Paw Patrol: Dino Rescue! is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the BMO Kids’ Zone. Paw Patrol Meet & Greet is scheduled for 12:10 p.m. and 5 p.m. Family programming also includes Bubble Playshop, Little Rodeo Pro, Team T&J Present Kids’ Dino Stompin’ Jamboree and Gabby’s Dollhouse Dance Party. Freestyle Motocross is scheduled at the Monster Energy Compound, while Full Throttle is scheduled at the Dog Bowl Arena in Community Park South. Elbow River Camp programming Flag Raising is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. at Elbow River Camp Presented By Enbridge. Camp Riders, Horse Culture, Tipi Viewing, interpretive tours and Sharing Our Culture are also scheduled throughout the day. Stoney Nakoda Nation Day is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Elbow River Camp Presented By Enbridge. Flag Lowering is scheduled for 7 p.m. Afternoon events The Stampede Rodeo begins at 1:30 p.m. at GMC Stadium. Taste of Stampede Culinary Cup semi-finals are scheduled for 1:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. in the BMO Centre. The Grand Staircase has guest band performances, the High Dive Show, Band of Outriders and the Stampede Showband scheduled throughout the day. Live music and entertainment The Alanis Morissette Stampede Concert Series presented by Uber Eats with special guest Brandy Clark is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Coca-Cola Stage programming includes Bijaan, Dozie, Lu Kala and Ayra Starr. Nashville North features Tristan Horncastle, Julia Vos, Kalsey Kulyk, Chris Janson and Drew Gregory. At The Big Four Roadhouse, Jory Kinjo is scheduled throughout the afternoon and early evening, followed by Tanya Tucker at 9 p.m. and Jade Elephant at 11 p.m. Dueling Piano Kings are scheduled in the Stampede Cellar Champion Wine Experience at 5:30 p.m., 7:15 p.m. and 9 p.m. Evening schedule The Evening Show begins at 7:15 p.m. at GMC Stadium. The Grand Staircase Show featuring the Stampede Showband is scheduled for 6 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Stampede Stand-Up! is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. at the Stage of Wonders in the BMO Centre.
