Okotoks swimmer Finlay Knox recently broke his own Canadian record.

The former Okotoks Maverick was in Scarborough, Ontario late last week for the 2023 Canadian Swimming Trials.

He’s been gradually improving his 200 metre individual medley (200IM) time over the last few years and managed to whittle yet more time from his previous records.

While butterfly and freestyle strokes were both 0.03 seconds slower than his 2022 record, his backstroke and breaststroke more than made up for it.

He posted a time of 1:57.26, a 0.24-second improvement from his previous record.

Knox now occupies the top six spots in all-time Canadian men’s 200 IM.
