I hope you have your Halloween costumes in order because it's the week of people!

If you're in need of some help to create a last-minute costume I have drawn some inspo from some of the biggest events/things that have happened in 2021, so far.

Enjoy my list of 'Costumes that reflect the year that is 2021':

1. Daphne or anyone from Bridgerton: Most of us obsessively binged this show, so I'm sure we'll see a lot of Bridgerton costumes! It's a great excuse to bust out thee ole wedding or grad gown to rock again!

2. Suez Canal Fiasco: Dress as a boat and get in the way of everyone, all night long, and there ya go! Suez Canal, my friend!

3. Michael Jordan: Everyone watched the G.O.A.T. in the 'The Last Dance' this year. So if you're a sports fan, throw on a Bulls jersey, a couple of hoop earrings and Air Jordans...oh, and demand excellence from everyone around you and you'll be M.J. ready this Halloween.

4. Bernie Sanders at the Inauguration: No matter what political stance you take...this was an iconic moment and it's super easy to re-create as a Canadian.

5. Friends: The Reunion: We smiled, we cried, we laughed, and we cried some more. So many options when it comes to Friends but if it were up to me I'd go as Ross dressed as Sputnik. Season 8 Episode 6.

6. The Olympics: Again, so many great moments you could dress up as but if I were to pick two I'd say Canadian swimmer Maggie MacNeil squinting to see the board after her gold medal win or Tom Daley knitting a sweater in the stands.

My favorite Olympic moment. Maggie won the 100m Butterfly final but couldn't see the board b/c she wasn't wearing her glasses! Hence the face.

7. Cruella: A new age Cruella de Vil! We've all seen how people have done it before but after watching the Disney live action movie starring Emma Stone there are so many ways to re-create this Halloween classic!

8. Oprah's interview with the ex-royals: An interview that rocked the world! And Oprah (see meme below). You could dress as Meghan and Harry OR as Oprah reacting to some of Meghan's comments. (Again see below for meme.)

9. Squid Game: I mean, this was a given. It's all anyone has talked about over the last three weeks...I haven't watched it myself but apparently lots of costume ideas comin' out of Squid Game!

There ya go, some of the most popular events/moments of 2021. Any that I've missed? Comment on Facebook or hit me up on the High River Toyota text line 403-938-0652!

Happy Halloween y'all!
