The vehicle was stolen by the driver, who had allegedly brandished a machete in the process.

Police pursued the truck as it went through fields and fences, and then ended up stuck in a field near 176 Street and 402 Avenue northeast of High River.

Witness Louanne Twa says she has extensive property damage.

"I'm surprised he didn't drive into our house or any vehicles parked on the property", she says.

Severe damage was also done to the truck, as well as some police vehicles involved in the pursuit. Luckily no one was injured.

Rodney Allan Ariss, a 30 year old from Calgary, has been charged and remains in custody.
