Strange, eccentric, maybe a really awesome!

Have you gotten to know your neighbours during all this lockdown? Personally I have been chatting with those on either side of me a heck of a lot more than before everything COVID started.

I'm glad I have been talking to them because... In a study done a couple of years ago more than 30 percent of Canadians now say they feel disconnected from their neighbours, while half of Americans admit they don’t know the names of theirs. It’s hardly surprising, given how long workweeks and days are, the long commutes to the city or further and having both parents working have combined with the way we raise our children to create suburban neighbourhoods that are empty more than half the day, I hardly saw a neighbour to encounter with, let alone recognize, trust or befriend.

Then... this pandemic hit and all of a sudden people are back home, talking and sharing. Bringing a little more life into those bare cul de sacs. Use this time to say hello and maybe drop something off. Don't worry about a perfect presentation - a heartfelt note and a simple treat can do the trick.

Now... on to my question!

We grew up on an acreage so I never really had neighbours until I moved into Okotoks where I lived next to a Pizza Food Truck (it was a great time... shoutout to Il Forno)  but in the time I've lived in towns and cities, I never had STRANGE people live next to me!

Have you?

I would love to hear some stories about the weird... strange or just plain awesome
