The Town of Nanton took to Facebook recently to congratulate one of their long-time employees on their retirement.

According to the social media post, Lisa Lockton began working for the town in 1988, and has stayed ever since.

When Lockton began working for the town, she was a clerk-typist at a time when typewriters were still being used.

Even though the office has grown, there was a time when Lockton was one of only four staff members, but even as the office grew and changed over the years, Lockton was one of the few consistencies in the office.

"While we will miss her presence in the office, we are grateful for the 35 years she shared with the organization," the town of Nanton said in their Facebook post. "We wish her the best on her retirement, and she says if you need to find her, you will find her on her horse."

The comments on the social media post echo the sentiment.

"Congratulations on your retirement and next stage of your journey...more time on the back of your horse! Yay!" read one comment.

"SO HAPPY I got to work with Lisa and call her friend. I can't wait to tell you in person CONGRATS on retirement," read another.

Lockton officially retires March 1st, and people are invited to attend her retirement party and celebrate.

The party begins after 6 at the Nanton Golf Club.
