Hey team!

We're back, by popular demand, with a list of things you need to check out this weekend, (Aug. 20 - 22), in the Foothills.

It was awesome to see people reach out and ask if this is something we'd be doing every weekend...and as there's a lot going on before the summer ends, we're gonna keep pumping out these weekly blogs to keep you in the loop!

So without further ado, let's get into it...here are some activities you NEED to check out this weekend:

1. High River Sunset Drive-in Movie Fundraiser for Baby It's Cold Outside: Who doesn't love a drive-in movie!? And especially when it's for a great cause! Family favourites, Frozen and Indiana Jones make up the double feature tomorrow, (Aug. 20), with proceeds supporting the amazing work BCO does in our community. They're even hooking one lucky family up with free admission. Details HERE.

Hey! If you want to help BCO they're looking for volunteers for their event! Pamela has the details:

2. Ram Everyday Adventure - I know it's not an event, but hey if someone told me I could get in to win a Ram 1500 Big Horn truck, I'd add it to the list of "things I need to do this weekend"! So to kick start your weekend listen in to the morning show tomorrow, (Aug. 20), for your cue to call in the 8 o'clock hour. First to get through, after the

cue to call, goes straight to the finals to win the truck AND you'll get a chance to win a 'Stay N' Play' pack at West Ed! Details HERE.

3. Goodger Pink Family Theatre Presents: Jack & the Beanstalk: Sadly, it's already closing weekend for our Googder Pink fam's first production back! But I've heard rave reviews, so you NEED to add this to your 'to-do' list because you and your kids will love it. Last weekend was wicked hot but with a nice happy medium temp forecasted for this weekend, it's a great event to catch while enjoying the outdoors. They even have a backup, indoor location, planned if needed so don't stress about it getting cancelled!

4. Show and Shine Burnout: Going down on Saturday, (Aug. 21), this is a classic, 70's styled, burnout to kick start this weekend's car festivities! Some participants have already asked if they can burn multiple tires....so, you know it's about to be an action-packed show! Details HERE.

5. Okotoks Rotary Club's 31 Annual Soap Box Derby: What a weekend for cars! These kids have been working on their soapbox cars for weeks, now it's time for the big day! Cheer them on as they compete in this exciting race down Crystal Ridge Drive! Details HERE.

6. The Okotoks Show and Shine: After a year hiatus, due to the pandemic, one of the town's biggest events is making a return! And not only are Okotokians happy, people from all over Alberta, even B.C., are excited to return to our town to look at the amazing classic cars that will be parked along the streets. Tons of fun for the whole family proceeds going to local charities and with it being dedicated to our friend, the late Mayor Bill Robertson, it's the place to be this Sunday, (Aug. 22). Details HERE.

P.S. Logan's going to be live on location on Sunday so if you see him say hi! He says there's lots of great music lined up as well, so come down and enjoy!😄

These are some of the events I have on my radar, what's on yours? Let me know in the comments or text into our High River Toyota text line at 403-938-0652.

Have fun and enjoy these last few weeks of summer!
