The Okotoks Oilers beat the Drumheller Dragons 3-2 Friday night.

Oilers player Matt McNair's hat trick was the Oilers three goals.

Going into the game the Dragons were looking to game some ground on the Oilers in the standings.

McNair says that they knew going into the game that they needed the win.

"Coming into this game the coaches were talking about putting space between us and the Dragons, so it was good to get the two points," McNair says.

Beating the Dragons was the Oilers second win of the week after they beat the Calgary Canucks on Wednesday.

McNair says that even though they beat the Canucks, the team that came out last night was a different team.

"Tonight we came out with a lot of jump, and we might not have got the bounces right away but we found a way to win."

The Oilers take on the Lloydminster Bobcats Saturday night at Pason Centennial Arena.

McNair says that the Bobcats are a defensive team.

"If we put the same effort in tomorrow with Lloyd coming in here I think we will have a close game," McNair says.

You can catch the game on the Eagle 100.9 and Okotoks Online starting with the pre game show at 6:45pm.
