While the Municipal District (M.D.) of Willow Creek Currently does not have a fire ban, they are still asking people to be cautious when it comes to fire.

On April 10, the M.D. took to social media to remind people that the warm and dry weather we have been experiencing has exposed areas of dead and dry vegetation, which increases the risk of wildfires this spring.

They are asking anyone who has done any form of burning on their land over the last few months to revise where they had a fire to ensure the fires are fully extinguished.

Several of the counties surrounding Willow Creek already have fire advisories in place, including Foothills County, Vulcan County, the M.D. of Pincher Creek, and the Calgary Forest Area.
