The Okotoks Bisons had the game of the year Friday night fighting the Cochrane Generals for first in the South Division.

While the Bisons played hard they just couldn't get the win, the Bisons fell 4-3 to the Generals.

Bisons Captain Darren Bordt says that they were doing everything right but they just were just missing the puck at times.

"We stayed on our role and were working the corners, we just were not getting our bounces out front and in a game like that it is a game of lucky bounces," Bordt says.

The loss puts the Bisons 4 points behind the Generals and two points ahead of the Coaldale Copperheads.

How ever Bordt says that games like Friday's will happen in the future with back to back scoring.

He says that in games like those you have to view them as a play off game.

"That is how it is going to be, it will be back and forth and we have to keep going no matter what happens we have to keep coming back at them."

The Bisons head to Strathmore tonight to take on the Wheatland Kings for the first time this season and for the first time since former team mates Brooker Pretty-Youngman and Christian A. Young-Man were traded there.

Bordt says that it will be nice to see some old faces on the ice.

"It will be a back and forth game just like tonight and it will be a good rivalry against Strathmore."

Now while the Bisons were playing the Cochrane Generals the Strathmore Wheatland Kings were playing the Banff Academy Bears.

The Wheatland Kings won 6-1.

Tonight they host the Okotoks Bisons at 8 o'clock in Strathmore.

The High River Flyers beat the Medicine Hat Cubs 7-2.

They play the Okotoks Bisons in Okotoks on Sunday at 1:30.
