Strathmore RCMP are crediting social media for the recovery of a stolen trailer.

On Sept. 19 around 3 p.m., police say they responded to a break and enter at a storage yard where a Haulmark trailer that had an antique car inside had been stolen.

The owner of the trailer and car circulated photos of the items on social media to spread awareness.

The next day, Sept. 20, a resident of Wheatland County who had seen the social media posts had spotted a truck pulling the trailer and called police.

When officers arrived on scene the suspects tried to evade them but they managed to pull them over and they were arrested and taken into custody.

The truck driven by the suspects had also been stolen.

Strathmore RCMP say 35-year-old Jason Little, 25-year-old Kelly Dwyer, and 58-year-old Ralph Huizinga are facing a combined total of 28 charges.

Charges include possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, flight from a peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and failing to comply with recognizance.
