United Way Okotoks Partnership hosted their eighth annual Harvest Fest on Saturday, September 22nd, at Ether Tucker Park.

Harvest Fest United Way Okotoks, is a fun family event that raises money for the Town of Okotoks and despite the uncooperative weather, those who made it out, enjoyed games, food and a petting zoo.

The weather Saturday didn't hamper the spirit of all who ventured out to enjoy a little community time for a good cause.

Mark Doherty with the Town of Okotoks says, this is the first kick off of the fundraising activities and the Town of Okotoks will receive all the proceeds.

"All the money raised in Okotoks, stays in Okotoks. That's important to know that and there's nine different agency's that they fund, to the tune of almost $100,000, so every nickel that they raise is a big help to support those groups", Doherty adds.

We can all benefit from our support of organization that offer help to our community and with events like Harvest Fest and more, we will see the changes we need.

All proceeds made from Harvest Fest is invested back into the Town of Okotoks, so next year add the date to your calendars, come out and enjoy.
