The Okotoks RCMP and Municipal Enforcement are hoping to hear from locals.

A survey has been launched to inform priorities for local enforcement

For the RCMP, it'll contribute to their Annual Performance Plan.

Detachment commander Zane Semaniuk says they're hoping for a broad spectrum of input.

"There are different kinds of things, it could be speeding, it could be police visibility in different neighbourhoods, because everyone has different perceptions, as do we. We try to get a cross-cut of all the different neighbourhoods within our community so you get a more well-balanced response on how we respond to different things in our community."

He says it's important to have a level of collaboration with the community.

"It gives people the opportunity to have a bit of a say in what we do. I think over the years we've gotten much better at that where we don't always say 'this is what we're going to do,' we actually ask what you'd like to see us doing. Of course there are things we can implement and then there are things we can't, but it's working with the community so that we can make Okotoks a better and safer place to be."

The survey ends on Feb. 28th.
