The Oilers season has come to an end after the Camrose Kodiaks beat them 4 to 2 in last nights battle.

The Oilers trailed the whole game until they made a comeback in the third period, but in the end their efforts unfortunately fell short.

President of Business and Hockey Operations Brad Robson says the loss is hard to take but the organization looks forward to next season.

"It's a bitter pill to swallow we just showed so much heart and desire throughout the whole series really. This third period we showed character and it's unfortunate the way it ended with that call that took place but its over, it's done with and we look forward to next year."

Game five ended some of the Oilers seasons but for others this draws the curtain on their AJHL career.

Robson says Drew Weich, Matt McNair, Connor Chambers and Colin O'Neill were all great leaders for the young team.

"In the third period they were our leaders and they're our leaders for a reason because they have the experience. They are character kids and they are hard working kids on and off the ice and as the Okotoks Oilers move ahead, next year when we are winning we will look back at those four players and those contributions they did for us this season and through the play offs and with their experience and hockey knowledge our younger players will learn from them and we'll gain and we will be better. Myself and the organization want to wish all four the best in their future whether it be hockey, education or life. All four of them will be successful."

Robson also thanked all the Okotoks Oilers supporters for the great season.

"I want to thank the radio station, the season ticket holders, the fans, the players the coaching staff, the office staff, our sponsors, the school system, it's een a learning experience for all of us but I just want to thank everybody that's been involved in the organization, everybody that's been part of this journey and we really appreciate it."

The Oilers lace up their skates again for spring camp on April 8th through the 10th.
