Today is the day!

High River residents are gathering at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex to cast their vote for their next mayor and town council.

They will also vote on the aquatic's referendum.

Polls are open Monday, October 18 from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

To cast a ballot, you must provide proof of your name and residence.

Some of the accepted forms of identification are:

- Government-issued ID that contains your address, name, and a photo
- Bank statement, credit card statement, or a personal cheque.
- Government cheque or cheque stub.
- Income or property tax assessment notice.
- Insurance policy or coverage card.
- Letter from a public curator, public guardian, or public trustee.
- Pension plan statement of benefits, contributions, or participation.
- Residential lease or mortgage statement.
- Statement of government benefits (for example, employment insurance, old-age security, social assistance, disability support, or child tax benefit).
- Utility bill (for example, telephone, public utilities commission, television, hydro, gas, or water).
- Vehicle ownership, registration, or insurance certificate.

Proof of vaccination is not required to vote in the High River Municipal Election.
