The High River RCMP have arrested a 56-year-old High River man for having a taser.

The RCMP entered into an investigation on November 9 and executed a search warrant this past Friday, November 24.

The conducted energy weapon, also known as a taser, was found and an arrest was made.

John Dorscheid was charged with:

  • importing a prohibited weapon
  • unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • failure to comply with a probation order

Dorscheid was taken before a Justice of the Peace and released. 

His next court appearance is scheduled in Okotoks for December 15.

The High River RCMP worked with other RCMP units along with Canada Post and the Canada Border Services Agency.
