It's been another great year when it comes to fundraising.

That includes the High River Health Care Foundation's annual Points of Light, according to fund development officer Cathy Couey.

"Points of Light again was an incredibly successful campaign for us, we raised over $20,000 and in turn there was a lot of shining lights outside the hospital in honour and in thanks and in memory of some very special people," she says.

Couey says that's up a bit from last year and right on target where they wanted to be when it comes to raising money for their palliative and spiritual care programs at the hospital.

She says it demonstrates the generosity of people in the area considering how well they did and the Salvation Army's Kettle campaign exceeded their goal.

"It never surprises me but it is always wonderful to see the generosity of the community."

Couey says their 50/50 draw also brought in $8,590, half of which, $4,295, was won by Joanne Burrows of Nanton.
