Farmer's Market shoppers in High River will have another market to take in starting Saturday and running until October 10.

Orvella Small with Inclusion Foothills says the UFA approached them with the idea of doing something together and that's how they came up with the idea of a market setting up in the UFA yard.

"If people are familiar with the UFA it's on the east side of UFA, they have a big lot there and they've opened that up for us, they've laid down some gravel and we'll have what's needed in order to run a Farmer's Market on Saturday's there," she says.

She says there's enough space for social distancing and it will have a dedicated entrance and exit so everyone should be able to move about easily and vendors are being encouraged to wear masks as they do at the downtown market.

Small says there'll be some differences from the Thursday market they run downtown.

"Because this is being done as a special event it offers us some different opportunities than we have from the market downtown, so we'll be able to have people marketing their jellies, and their pickles and their pies and their buns, which we haven't had the opportunity to do down here (downtown) because we are not an Alberta Farmers Market so it's a bit different doing a special event," she says.

This Saturday's market is kind of a sneak peek at what will be offered every Saturday from September 12 to October 10, from noon to 4 p.m..

Small says there may even be a few classic automobiles on display.
