Prairie Princes: A Celebration of the Grain Elevator.

The paintings and book illustrations of Jason Carter are the highlight of a summer-long showcase at the Okotoks Art Gallery.
This exhibit opened June 25th and can be enjoyed until September 3rd.
Once you enter the space at the Okotoks Art Gallery you immediately know why Jason is in demand for murals and works of public art,
his work is bold and colourful.
These acrylics of different sizes and shapes, fill the large gallery, draw you in and make you want to sit a while.
Jason created these paintings specifically for this exhibition and the prairie grain elevator takes center stage.
This once dominant symbol of the prairies speaks to any of us that grew up in a farm community, and I for one,
truly miss seeing them on our landscape.
When you walk from the large gallery to the small gallery you leave behind the grain elevators and enter a room full of
Jason Carter's delightful illustrations.
You will find a rabbit and other animals, that he has created for a new children's book with author Bridget Ryan.
The book is called, Who is Boo 3, it is the third in this series about The Terrific Tails of One Trickster Rabbit.
Bring the family down to The Okotoks Art Gallery and enjoy this exhibit!
Added bonus!
If you come down on Saturday morning from 10 am to noon with your child age 1 to 5, you will also find several
hands on activity stations and art activities for your toddler.
