Drawing barrel one in Sundays "Dash for Cash" final in Medicine Hat didn't help High River's Jason Glass much.

He ended up finishing third behind 2015 Stampede and World Champion Kurt Bensmiller and the winner Doug Irvine as the Medicine Hat Stampede wrapped up.

Irvine, coming off barrel two, says he was facing some stiff competition, and says he feels he was lucky to some extent.

"I thought I could do it off of two, or three or one. But I knew things had to be absolutely perfect because them guys are tough competitors and I knew it wasn't going to be easy so I just got lucky with two and things worked out."

Okotoks Mark Sutherland finished sixth overall, and High River's Jordie Fike was 13th.

The driver's now pack up and head to High River for Guy Weadick Days starting Thursday.
