Film Making 101 - For Teens

A group of eager teens arrived at the Okotoks Public Library with film making in mind today.

Instructors Katie Fournell, Wes Beiko, and Shawna Koski engaged the students immediately and encouraged them to use their creativity and imagination to tell a story on film. Before long ideas were flying and concepts were developing.

Zooom and the Okotoks Film Festival teamed up to bring this workshop to teens in the foothills. Theses teens learned a little about how to shoot a film and a lot about how to produce a film!

I sat in on a portion of the session and I am looking forward to seeing what these keen teens will come up with for the Zooom Festival. They have the summer to film and submit. The festival is at the end of August. More information and resources to help you with your film can be found here. Zooom.ca

I also feel inspired to maybe try a little film making myself. The Okotoks Film Festival is happening this fall, so you never know.
