Alberta's provincial government recently announced close to $10 million in funding being provided to Alberta's non-profit organizations.

The Community Initiatives Program (CIP) is providing $9.9 million to 260 non-profits both for specific projects and for general operations.

A list of approved applicants for the initial intake (2023-2024) was released, with a few Foothills area non-profits among the lists.

Among the organizations receiving operations funding is the Rowan House Society out of High River, with a $75,000 grant going toward administrative costs, staff wages and salaries.

The Claresholm and District Transportation Society is receiving $33,465 for advertising, rent, staff wages, supplies, and other operating costs.

Another Claresholm non-profit received project funding via the CIP.

The Canadian Senior Pro Rodeo Association's Canadian Senior Pro Rodeo Association Final Rodeo 2023 saw $20,000 for hosting costs.

Alberta's 2023 budget includes $17.5 million for the Community Initiatives Program.
