With three straight losses hanging over their heads, the High River Flyers could be excused if they were a little pessimistic heading into this weekends Heritage Junior "B" match-up's against the Coaldale  Copperheads and Red Deer Vipers.

But they're anything but pessimistic, in fact they're downright optimistic about this weekend.

All three of last weekend's games were close with the Flyers losing 2-1 to Three Hills thanks to 17 penalties in the game.

The next was an 8-5 loss to league leading Mountainview, where the Flyers were actually leading 5-4 until the third period.

And the final loss was a 4-3 overtime loss to Airdrie, where once again the Flyers took a bad penalty in the overtime which cost them.

Even with the losses, Flyers Coach Bruce Cowie is preaching from the book of positive thinking and says the team is absolutely convinced they can beat anyone on any night and he thinks they're getting very close to proving it.

"We're not that far off, and we can feel it. We're hoping the players are buying into it. I think they know that they can beat anybody on any given night as well. The proof being that Mountainview game on Saturday night. They know they can compete with those teams that people say are better than us."

Fridays game goes at 8:15 at the Rec-Plex.

In Okotoks the Bisons are home as well as they host the Cochrane Generals in a battle of the top two teams in the Heritage League's South Division.

The puck drops at 8 P.M. at the Murray Arena.

The Bisons are in Stettler Saturday night to battle the Lightning.

The Strathmore Wheatland Kings are in Medicine Hat to face the Cubs Friday then they return home Saturday night to face off against the Mountainview Colts.
