Another pretty good year for High River's Jordie Fike on the chuckwagon circuit.

He finished 16th overall in the WPCA Driver Standings, but says he would have liked to have finished a little higher.

He says overall he was pretty happy with his year.

"I had a strong Ponoka and Calgary and those are the ones you really want to peak for. And I think my horses were really hitting their stride around the time of the Ponoka and Calgary shows, which I was pretty happy about. Not totally happy with my finish. I was sitting pretty tough going into the last three shows, then I ran out of horsepower a bit and dropped quite a few spots in the world standings."

Fike says he's come to grips with the new economic reality of low oil prices, so he knows he'll have to make due with less this coming season from sponsors.

But he adds, he has a good relationship with his sponsors so he's not worried about not having the cash to head down the road.
