The Dawgs make it two back-to-back wins after defeating Swift Current 9-3 on Wednesday night.

The Dawgs pitching would shut the door on the 57’s offense only allowing 3 runs on 4 hits while striking out 9 batters.

The Dawgs move to 38-15 on the season and now sit 1 game ahead of the Sylvan Lake Gulls, 1st place in the west with 3 games remaining on the schedule for the Dawgs.

Brendan Luther (Bellevue University, NE) extends his hitting streak to 14 games tonight going 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. Ricky Sanchez (Barton College, KS) would go 1 for 4 scoring 1 RBI tonight bringing his season total to 20. Noah Geekie (Emporia State University, KS) would have 1 RBI. Alejandro Cazorla (Bossier Parrish CC, LA) went 2 for 5 this evening scoring 3 RBI bringing his season total to 26 RBI. Aidan Rose (UBC) would record his 14 th and 15 th RBI on the season tonight in the dominant offensive performance by the Dawgs.

Brock Townsend (Bellevue University, NE) would earn the win after tossing 5 innings allowing 2 runs on 3 hits while striking out 3 batters. The Dawgs would make light work for the bullpen tonight only utilizing 4 relief pitchers.

The Dawgs play game 2 Thursday, August 3rd for the final matchup against the 57’s this season.

The Dawgs have their final regular season road game in Lethbridge at Spitz Stadium against the Lethbridge Bulls on August 4 with first pitch set for 7:05 pm.
