The Okotoks Dawgs improved to 8-and-7 with a 13-2 win over the Brooks Bombers Sunday afternoon at Seaman Stadium.

The Dawgs took two out of three games over the weekend, beating Lethbridge 11-10 Friday, but losing 3-0 to Medicine Hat Saturday.

Michael Gretler had a great day for the Dawgs against Brooks with three hits and four RBI's.

He says winning two out of three over the weekend helps.

"We had a good weekend, last (Saturday) night was tough. We didn't put any runs on the board after we had a great pitching performance, but it's nice to bounce back today (Sunday) and put up some runs."

A few other Dawgs had notable days.

Daniel Fredrickson had one hit, two RBI’s, 3BB and four runs.

Kellen Marruffo hit his second home run of the season, sending one over the right field fence for a two-run home run in the fourth inning.

The Dawgs also got some great pitching from starter Sam Wong, who pitched six innings, giving up five hits, two earned runs, one walk and four strike outs.

The Dawgs are off Monday but face the Bombers Tuesday in Brooks and then back in Okotoks Wednesday, before hitting the road for six games.

They return to Seaman Stadium on Canada Day, July 1, for their annual extravaganza.
