Dog walkers in Diamond Valley will have to work around construction at one of their dog parks from now until the end of summer.

While construction on the Westend Sewage Lagoon occurs, a portion of the North end of the Black Diamond Dog Park will be closed from March 4 to the end of this summer.

By closing this portion of the dog park, they are helping to protect a bird habitat while construction occurs.

There will be fencing and signage in place to let people know of the closure.

In the meantime, the Turner Valley Dog Park will be unaffected by the construction.

The town reminds people to remain mindful of their surroundings at all times, especially around the river valley, which is home to a variety of wildlife, including bears and cougars.
