The sun was shining down on the Bar U Ranch National Historic Site on this beautiful Sunday morning! The sky was clear and the horses came out to play!

Now open for the season, the Bar U Ranch community offers great events and activities to children of all ages and their parents! Brought to you by Parks Canada in your very own backyard, Bar U Ranch is the perfect spot to gather everyone to learn a little bit about history and nature!

The experiences that one gets from the land here cannot be experienced anywhere else: the Rhythm of the Land program includes field events such as spring seeding, hay demonstrations, binding and stooking, and harvest - all happening at varied times throughout the summer. And it doesn't just end there! Bar U also offers cowboy coffee at the Roundup Camp, a fresh, local meal at the Cookhouse, and a horse-drawn wagon ride throughout the park. These events will be happening all throughout the summer so make sure that you don't miss them as they are a great way to get the family together in an active and educational setting!

Be sure to join us again at Bar U for the Hometown Heroes Weekend on Saturday, June 16 and Sunday, June 17. As 2018 marks one hundred years since the end of the Great War, heroic individuals will be commemorated in honor of their legacy.

You can also find the Eagle Street Team at the next events - the 29th Annual Soap Box Derby happening on Saturday, June 2nd at Crystal Ridge Drive!
