Thursday morning, Jan. 25, the AJHL released a statement on their website explaining how the rest of the season will unfold.

Since five teams in the AJHL have decided to join the BCHL next season all remaining games against the other eleven teams left in the AJHL have been cancelled.

However, any games between the five teams that are leaving, which include the Okotoks Oilers, that involve play against one another will still be played and only games between the eleven remaining teams amongst one another will be allowed.

The five AJHL teams that are jumping to the BCHL include the Okotoks Oilers, Brooks Bandits, Sherwood Park Crusaders, Blackfalds Bulldogs and the Spruce Grove Saints.

So, the upcoming game with the Okotoks Oilers at Brooks this Friday is a go, however the scheduled game between the Oilers and Whitecourt this Saturday night at the Centennial arena has been cancelled.

And according to the rest of the schedule the Oilers only have two more games remaining after the Brooks Bandits game and that's on Saturday Feb. 17 at Sherwood Park and then on Friday Mar. 1 when they host the Sherwood Park Crusaders.
