This is the last chance for local children to get signed up for this summer's Lemonade Day.

Lemonade Day is an event to help children get a real taste of what the world of business looks like as they go through life's various path.

Okotoks Town Councillor and Lemonade Day Coordinator Tanya Thorn says it's a great experience for youth.

"It teaches kids everything they need to know about owning, operating and running a business and then it culminates with the opening of their business a lemonade stand on June 11 here in Okotoks and we've also expanded this year into Black Diamond & Turner Valley as well."

Thorn says Lemonade Day is as close as it gets to day to day business in the community.

"It teaches them everything from making a plan, set goals, how to work that plan and execute and then hopefully achieve financial gain at the end of it all."

"The costs come in obviously they need to buy supplies for their business, everything that you'd need buy to set-up a business. They'll have a cost for their business license, supplies, their stands those kind of things. But the intent with that is obviously that they'll recoup those costs as they sell lemonade and whatever else they choose to sell that day.

The registration deadline for Lemonade Day is Saturday.
