No one that attended can say they went home hungry this weekend after the 2nd Annual Smokin Q BBQ competition was held at Lynwood Ranch.

Barbeque was smelled for miles as 33 different BBQ pitmasters prepared and cooked their meals for guests and the Kansas City BBQ Society who judged the competition.

The pitmasters were judged on four different meals: beef brisket, pulled pork, pork ribs and chicken, battling it out to be crowned the Smokin Q champion.

But to allow people to burn off some calories between stuffing their faces with the delicious, on going barbequed food a dance was held Saturday night allowing the events guests to dance the night away to the sound of local musicians.

On Sunday the ranch was open to the public and was filled with fun activities for all ages, activities included: classic cars, local vendors, demonstrations, bbq sampling, hay rides and hobbycraft demos.

After the fun was had judges got down to business and it was the Arrowhead North BBQ team that came out on top scoring an overall score of 677.6344.

The Arrowhead North BBQ team placed 21st in the chicken category, first in the pork ribs, second in the pork and first in brisket qualifying for the American Royal Barbecue competition in Kansas City and the Jack Daniels World Championships in Lynchburg, Tennessee.

The Feast and Frolic portion completely sold out this year so if you're looking for mouth watering BBQ and a fun family weekend be ready for ticket sales next year!
