With all the recent snowfall melting and re-freezing lately, sidewalks are getting slick.

To assist with icy sidewalks during the winter months, the Town of Okotoks is providing free sand at the Okotoks Eco Centre, and both Fire Stations.

The sand will be available throughout the cooler months, individuals must bring their own bucket.

Sanding icy sidewalks can prevent injury, and under the Traffic Bylaw 10-10 All persons within the Municipality must clear all ice, snow, dirt or debris and other obstructions must be from the sidewalk adjacent to the premises owned or occupied by them.
