Okotoks Auto Detailing is reaching out to those who've been effected by the wildfires in Fort McMurray.

Aden Metcalf, co-owner of Okotoks Auto Detailing, is a member of the non-profit group Soldiers of Odin and is working with them by collecting donations at his business for the victims of the fire.

Metcalf says he's amazed at the support from the community.

"I'm really happy at the outpouring of help from people so far already, " he says. "As of 8 a.m. Wednesday morning we posted this idea and we've already had five or six donations and a hundred phone calls so it's really getting the ball rolling and we just want to keep it rolling and see these people get help."

They're not accepting monetary donations but are looking for items like non perishable food, clothes, water, blankets, diapers, and pet items.

Metcalf's wife and co-owner Audra says a fundraiser is also in the works.

"We're going to have a charity carwash in our lot and we're looking for sponsors, we've got bouncy houses already donated, a barbeque, all kinds of stuff, so we're hoping to get as many people involved as we can."

No date for the event has been confirmed but it's expected to take place within the next couple weeks.

Donations can be dropped off at Okotoks Auto Detailing Mon- Fri from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m.
