The Okotoks Rotary Club held a Mac and Cheese Luncheon in support of the Okotoks Food Bank on Wednesday.

The Rotary Club already donates meat to the food bank, but according to Membership Chair Sandi Kennedy, they thought that holding an event would make it so that they could increase the amount they are able to give.

"We have the luncheon, make a little money and spend it on meat for the Food Bank," Kennedy says.

The food bank will receive the meat in 1 pound frozen packages of hamburger.

Kennedy adds, that while they have not come up with the final number, "We will commit to the food bank getting at least 800 pounds of hamburger."

Kennedy says the reason for a Mac and Cheese luncheon, because it is a simple lunch that can be made by anyone.

"It allows everyone to come together and do something for a good cause."
