Following an incident on Saturday, Innisfail RCMP arrested two men, one of whom was wanted on warrants related to investigations in Okotoks, Airdire, Sundre, Blackfalds, and Red Deer.

On May 16th, after receiving reports of a suspicious vehicle stuck in a ditch on C & E trail, officers located two males attempting to removed a jackknifed trailer from the ditch.

Upon investigation, the trailer, as well as the truck towing it, and a second truck at the scene were all confirmed to have been stolen.

One of the males was also found to have been wanted on numerous charges from the aforementioned municipalities.

Both men were arrested.

A search of the trucks turned up a loaded sawed-off shotgun, approximately 60 grams of methamphetamine estimated to be worth $3600, a knife, and bear spray.

According to a release from Innisfail RCMP, 34 year old Mitchell Lewis Engler of Olds is facing the following charges:

-Possession of stolen property over $5000 x3

-Possession of stolen property under $5000

-Possession of a controlled substance x4

-Altering a VIN

-Possession of break in tools

-Unsafe storage of a firearm

-Possession of a firearm without a license

-Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm

-Possession of a firearm in a vehicle

-Possession of a firearm obtained by crime

-Possession of a prohibited firearm without a license

-Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x3

-Fail to comply x8

Engler had been featured in the Alberta RCMP's "Wanted Wednesday" posts on social media for several weeks prior to this arrest, with Foothills County listed as his last known location.

34 year old Lester Martin of Lacombe is facing the following charges:

-Possession of stolen property over $5000 x3

-Possession of stolen property under $5000

-Possession of a controlled substance x4

-Altering a VIN

-Possession of break in tools

-Unsafe storage of a firearm

-Possession of a firearm without a license

-Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm

-Possession of a firearm in a vehicle

-Possession of a firearm obtained by crime

-Possession of a prohibited firearm without a license

-Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x3

-Fail to comply x1

Both men have been remanded to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on May 25th.
