The Millarville Stockland 4-H Beef Club held their achievement day this weekend.

The day allows the members of the clubtoshow their project animals or special projects that they have been working on threw out the year.

Club reporter Jackson Collard says, participating in the day means that members will get a certificate of achievement at the end of the year for that they showed at achievement day.

"There are 20 heifers, 2 sheep, 6 sheep projects and 19 steers at achievement day this year."

Collard showed his steer at this weekends events.

The animal projects that were shown at achievement day are the animals that are being taken to this years 4 day 4-H parade at the Calgary Stampede.

The Stampede consists of showing off their animals and in some cases even selling them.

"We all have our shows at different times and at the end the steers and sheep show sell their projects," Collard says.

The club will also be taking their charity steer to the Stampede this year, and all the proceeds from selling the steer will go towards the Shriners Hospital.

Collard believes that being apart of 4-H and doing projects like the charity steer are just a few of the great things he is taught in 4-H.

"You learn good public speaking skills, and a lot of good skills for your future."
