Strathmore RCMP are attributing the arrest of 48 year old Bryce Gibson to the bravery of a 14 year old citizen.

On May 18th officers responded to a break and enter in progress at a seniors apartment complex.

The suspect fled from the police on foot, causing a short chase to commence.

Gibson resisted arrest and fought with police officers when they caught up to him.

He was taken into custody and charged with breaking and entering, resisting arrest and assault on an officer.

Gibson will appear in Strathmore Provincial Court on June 2nd.

A release sent out by Cpl. Jay Salmon quotes that the arrest was made possible by a young person who chose to do the right thing.

"Strathmore RCMP would like to recognize the bravery of the 14-year-old Strathmore resident who saw the break and enter taking place and called 911. Thanks to that 911 call, the suspect was arrested  and no one was hurt in this incident."
