The High River Flyers finally broke out of their seven game losing streak over the weekend, but the celebrations didn't last long.

Friday night was a big night for the Flyers as they edged the Strathmore Wheatland Kings 3-2 in front of the hometown faithful, but the road wasn't kind to the Flyers Sunday as they were manhandled 9-1 by the Wranglers in Blackfalds.

The Wheatland Kings ended their weekend 0-for-2 as they were dumped 8-2 by Airdrie Saturday night.

The Okotoks Bisons on the other hand had a great weekend.

They handed the league's top team, the Mountainview Colts a 5-3 loss Friday night, and then edged the Stettler Lightning 5-4 Sunday at the Murray Arena to wrap up a four point weekend.

In the midget ranks, the CFR "AAA" Midget Bisons picked up four points as they doubled up Sherwood Park 6-3 Saturday and then the Edmonton Kings 4-1 Sunday.
