A win and a loss for local teams in high school football action over the weekend.

The Foothills Falcons improved to 1-and-1 with a narrow, 23-20 win over Bishop O'Byrne Friday night at home.

The win keeps the Falcons in fourth spot in the Tier II rankings.

They host their arch rivals from Holy Trinity Academy Friday, September 18 starting at 7 P.M. in their annual "Blackout" game.

In Claresholm, the Willow Creek Cobras were on the wrong end of a 27-7 loss to Chinook.

The loss drops them to 1-and-1 on the year and drops them a spot in the Football Alberta Tier IV rankings as they fall from second to third.

The Highwood Mustangs had the weekend off.

They're back in action Saturday, September 19 at noon as they host the Pincher Creek Mustangs.
