Upgrade work on Deerfoot Trail northeast of Okotoks is set to start on Monday (April 29).

The work, expected to last several weeks, will span from north of the Sheep River to the interchange of Highways 2 and 552.

Southbound lanes will be paved and widened at 306, 338, and 370 Avenue.

The highway will remain open throughout the process, though some lane closures, median closures, and speed reductions can be expected while work is underway.

According to the Town of Okotoks, most of the work will be done in the evening into the early morning, between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Some will be done during the daytime, including the installation of lighting, barriers, and culverts.

More information on the upgrade work and other local construction projects can be seen on the Town of Okotoks’ website.
