There won't be any ties when the Okotoks Oilers and Camrose Kodiaks meet in the opening round of the AJHL playoffs starting Thursday night.

That isn't the case for two players on the respective teams who are sharing the 2016-17 Viterra Cup.

Jordan Xavier of the Oilers and Bryson Traptow of the Kodiaks have been named co-winners of the award.

Xavier was selected as the Viterra star of the game 10 times as a member of the Calgary Mustangs and another three after joining the Oilers in December.

Xavier held the top spot for the opening four months of the season before he was overtaken by Traptow in January.

They, and their teammates, will meet Thursday night in game one of their best-of-five AJHL series at the Centennial Arena starting at 7 p.m.
