Okotoks Mark Sutherland and the rest of the WPCA drivers are back to work starting Thursday night in Bonnyville.

Sutherland enters the race as the number eight driver in the World Standings, and with less than 50 points separating him from the leader Kurt Bensmiller, he's confident that if he can run some good, clean races, he could be crowned the champ by season's end.

However he has a few guys standing between him and the title, namely High River's Jason Glass.

"I would expect he'll be, certainly if not the guy to beat, one of the guys to beat. So, I think if I focus on those two guys and I outrun them every night, I'm going to be the World Champion. It's literally that simple."

However, Sutherland is quick to add, that saying and actually doing it are two different things, and he knows it'll be anything but easy to catch the seven drivers ahead of him.

The chucks run Thursday through Sunday, with the top aggregate time after four nights taking the Bonnyville title.
