Last year, High River council supported the STARS air ambulance to the tune of $14,800.

In a report presented in their last meeting, council got to see how that money was used.

STARS was able to carry out 35 on scene, inter-facility and search and rescue missions to the town and surrounding area.

They made eight trips to the Oilfields Hospital and five to the High River Hospital for critical inter-facility transfers.

STARS also landed four times each near Dewinton and Longview, three near Black Diamond for search and rescue and two each near High River for search and rescue, near Millarville, near Eden Valley and near Priddis.

They also stopped once each near Okotoks, Aldersyde and Bragg Creek.

Overall the 35 trips last year was higher than the 27 in 2019 but fewer than the 55 they did in 2018.
