The Rocky Mountain Raiders lost Friday night against the Weyburn Gold Wings in the semi finals.

The Raiders fell to the Gold Wings 4-3 in a shoot out.

Hailey McCallum with the Raiders says that even though they lost Fridays game the team still has a lot to be proud of.

"It's definitely not easy losing like that, especially when we thought we had it and we were heading into tomorrows final game. But we all just have to be proud of how far we have come, knowing that we made it to the semi finals in nationals is quite an unreal achievement," McCallum says.

McCallum says that the team should also be proud about the fact that they finished in a better position than they did last year.

"When you saw our team at the beginning of this year you wouldn't think much would come out of it, but to see how far everyone has come and how we have bonded it is just amazing."

McCallum adds that the support from the Raiders fan base was a huge support as well.

"We have lots of family here, and it means a lot to hear them chanting go Raiders go, it helps you keep moving," McCallum says.

The Raiders head into the Bronze Medal final Saturday at 11:30 where they take on the Saskatoon Stars.
