The 7th annual Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer came to Okotoks!

After pedalling over 100km from Calgary, through Bragg Creek, on to Millarville, then Black Diamond, the riders crossed the finish line in Okotoks. But their ride didn't stop there! After an afternoon and evening of entertainment, food, and socializing, the riders spent the night camping under the stars and then got up the next morning and jumped right back on their bikes to kick off day two of the ride. Day two included another 100km of cycling back to Calgary, where riders crossed the finish line and concluded their journey that will help conquer cancer.

Over 1700 participants took off on this adventure and they raised $7.8 million to go towards the Alberta Cancer Foundation. The money raised will go towards funding cancer research, clinical trials, discovering new therapies, and enhancing patient care.

We caught up with the riders in Okotoks as they crossed the day one finish line. We cheered them on and we were able to talk to many of them and hear their stories. Their energy was amazing and they all have a reason or person that was their inspiration for the ride.  Many are also hoping to inspire others to take part in the event next year!

Can't wait for the 8th annual Ride to Conquer Cancer! And cheers to all the men and women who took on this adventure to help conquer cancer; you're amazing!
