The partial solar eclipse on Monday afternoon lit up local amateur weather forecast Angie Brown.

She was excited to see it, but it also made her hungry she said with a chuckle.

"It looked like somebody took a bite out of a cookie. I wanted a cookie after, lol."

Besides the humour, Brown also said it was also kind of weird.

"Actually, it was very eerie, and it was very quiet."

Brown said she could not only watch the eclipse but also take photos by coming up with a creative solution using a pair of solar safety glasses.

"I took one of the lenses and taped it on my phone camera and that's how I was able to watch the eclipse."

We'll all have to wait for the next full solar eclipse in Canada as it's not expected to happen for another 20 years in 2044.
