The Olympics are supposed to inspire.

They're definitely doing that for the High River Tigers Swim Club.

Particularly the work of 16 year old Penny Oleksiak, who won bronze and silver medals in swimming already this week at the Rio Olympic Games.

Tigers Assistant Coach Megan Montgomery says she tries to make sure her swimmers prepare for each meet like Olympians.

"The same thing that goes into an Olympic goal, goes into the goals that we set. Like, day in and day out, making sure that you're showing up for practice. Taking care of yourself. Eating properly. Sleeping properly. Olympians do all of those little things."

She says it takes a lot of committment, even at the club level, with the swimmers who range in age from six to 18, practicing six times a week, with meets about once a month.

She says the Tigers are gearing up for their season which starts next month.
