It's tough to argue the Okotoks Oilers were punching way above their weight class in the early part of the AJHL season.

With 14 rookies in their line-up and sitting in first place in the South Division, you'd have to be a very big optimist to think they could keep up that pace.

Reality has kicked in and the team is coming back to earth riding a six game losing skid.

But the panic buttons aren't being pushed just yet.

Coach James Poole, never one to shy away from a trade, says he's looking, but he won't be rushed.

"We're taking our time, we're looking through every potential option and hopefully we will find some options here that fit into the identity and culture we're trying to build this season."

The Oilers look to get back on track this weekend with back to back games with the Olds Grizzlys.

They'll host the opener Friday night before heading to Olds for the re-match Saturday.
