The Okotoks Oilers won in front of a hometown crowd last night, November 25.

They hosted the Drayton Valley Thunder and with Trey Degraaf, Jordie Lawson and Carter Huber all scoring, won 3-0.

The Oilers only allowed 13 shots on net and Forward Jordie Lawson says they played a good game but tonight's, November 26, game has to be better.

"I thought we played pretty good. They aren't a team that's high in the standings but we came out and we thought we got pucks deep and got a lot of pressure on it. We didn't give a lot up in the first and the third but Brooks is definitely a better team than Drayton so we have to be even better for that game."

The Oilers and Brooks Bandits have gone at it all season and are currently 2-2 against each other.

But with the Bandits sitting pretty at the top of the south division standings Lawson says if tonight's a win for the green and gold it could say a lot for their team.

"They are obviously a big rival of ours. We won the first two and they won the last two and if we want to win the south we got to know that we can beat them in a series. So we are kind of taking it like that, if we win the series we know we can do it."

Puck drop goes at 7 p.m. at the Centennial Regional Arena.
